Day 17 - San Francisco
It's hilly !
We set off from the hotel on Lombard street to walk up to the famous wiggly street seen on many movies and tv programs.
As established, I don't like heights, well Net doesn't like hills.
It really is that steep, they park the cars head on to buildings in case brakes fail.
We made it to the top, eventually. The drive down is interesting.
Had lunch in the San Francisco Brewery Company, Net tried their flights of beer which washed down the wings, prawns and fries combo. A game of pool, AC/DC being played, beer wine and marguerites, another great combo.
We had the Alcatraz trip booked so a couple of hours to kill forced us into another bar which happened to be happy hour. Chatted with a nice American couple at the bar on their 19th wedding anniversary.
Took the tour and heard from ex wardens and prisoners, neither sounded happy about being on this island. It's hard to imagine what it was like when the cells were full.
They definitely would not have been this happy entering.
Todays song - Please release me 😳
Some famous faces who resided here.
Set off back on the boat and looking forward to a hot dog to end the evening. Disappointingly it appears they all close around 8pm so none to be had.
At least he thought it was funny.
I think I may have spotted a relative of the bird man of Alcatraz.
